Robert Baffi, Ph.D., Venture Partner

Robert Baffi, Ph.D., is a Venture Partner at Samsara BioCapital. Prior to joining Samsara BioCapital, he spent 23 years at BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc., most recently as a Senior Advisor to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer and as President of Global Manufacturing & Technical Operations. Prior to BioMarin Pharmaceutical, Dr. Baffi served 14 years in increasingly senior positions at Genentech. He also previously served as a Research Scientist at Cooper BioMedical and as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Becton Dickinson Research Center. He has contributed to the approval and commercial success of 28 products. Dr. Baffi serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Mosaic ImmunoEngineering and Bionic Sight. Dr. Baffi also serves on the Science Advisory Board of the National Institute for Bioprocessing Research & Training. He received his Ph.D., M. Phil., and B.S., in Biochemistry from the City University of New York and his M.B.A. from Regis University.
